Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Handler

  Day Shift

Department: Steel Fabrication

Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor

Classification: Non Exempt/Hourly

Hiring Bonus:  $1,500.00 Hiring Bonus To Be Paid Out After 90 Days of Employment

Duties & Responsibilities

• Receives good and certifies the quality and count of all items
• Verifies and records all items unpacked
• Comprehend purchase orders
• Notifies Lead of discrepancies, over shipments, and substitutions
• Report safety hazards and quality and production issues
• Transports materials from shipping and receiving area to other locations withing the warehouse
• Follow Load Plans to efficiently load outgoing shipments
• Prepare ship loose kits with accuracy
• Accurately pick, pack, check and load products to and from designated areas of the facility, specifically to shipping
• Build pallets and skids per specifications for outbound shipments
• Handle sheet metal and sheet stock for outbound shipments
• Pulls inventory to help maintain stock and identify shortages
• Label and properly place received items throughout the warehouse

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong sense of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to time manage
• Strong reading and comprehension skills
• Has the ability to work independently with little direct supervision

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving or similar field

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
• Tolerance for warehouse environment
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
